Can you buy AA batteries in another country?

I bought a digital camera for my cousin. She lives in another country (Sri Lanka). It's not a rechargeable camera. It works with AA batteries. I was wondering if anyone knows if other countries sell those batteries, so she can buy the batteries from there for the camera??
